Grossmont Union High School District

The online registration process should take 20-30 minutes to complete. You will find helpful information on this page to help you complete the online registration form (OLR) as efficiently as possible.

Before you Begin

  • Enable pop-ups in your Browser
After completing some basic information, you will be asked to "Start new Registration".  From that point, the form will continue in a new window. Please enable pop-ups in your browser to access the remainder of the form.  We understand that not everyone knows how to do that, so we have created this page with step-by-step directions and screenshots to make this as easy as possible for you.

    Instructions to enable pop-ups

  • Be prepared to write down your confirmation number
At a certain point in the registration process, a message will appear with a confirmation number. Please write down the confirmation number and keep it in a safe place before pressing the "Confirm" button. This is necessary to save and return to your progress later. If you do not remember this number you will need to start the registration from the beginning when you come back.

  • Gather required documents for upload
If possible, obtain scanned files of your student's birth certificate, student's immunization records, and family proof of residency. If you do not have the files, you can take the documents to your child's school at a later date.

Completing the form

  • Step-by-step walkthrough
Use the following link to navigate to a step-by-step walkthrough of the online registration.
    www.guhsd.net/Parents/Registration/Student-Registration-Help/#Walkthrough

  • You can save and return to your progress
At the bottom of each tab, there is a blue button to "Save and Continue".  This must be clicked to save your data before continuing to the next section.

To return your saved OLR at a later time, make sure to have written down the confirmation number when prompted at the beginning of the OLR. The number can be entered at the beginning of the OLR the next time it is accessed. The system will also ask the same identity questions as when you started the OLR.  Your answers to the identity questions must be a 100% match.

  • Partially completed sections are not saved.
If a parent entered all or most of the student tab, but didn't click the blue "Save and Continue" button for the student info, then all the student info is lost.

  • Click the large red button to submit your registration.
Don't forget to hit the "submit" button at the conclusion of the form. Your registration will not be submitted to our system without completing this final step.

After Submitting the Registration

  • Processing Time
Each online registration is individually reviewed by the Grossmont Union High School District. Processing of your student's online registration application can take a few days, especially during high volume times.  However, if you haven't received confirmation of registration after ten business days, please contact us at 619-956-4357 so we can check to make sure there were no problems with your application.

  • Create an Infinite Campus Parent Portal Account
The Infinite Campus Parent Portal allows you to monitor your student’s progress throughout high school. You can check your student’s grades and attendance, participate in School Choice, and more. New parents will receive an additional email inviting you to create an Infinite Campus account along with instructions for setting it up 2 days after registration approval. For current and previous GUHSD Parents, your new student will be visible in your existing Infinite Campus Parent Portal.

  • Get verification of required documents
During the OLR you will be asked to submit scanned files of your student's birth certificate, student immunization records, and family proof of residency. If you do not have the files, you can take the documents to your child's school at a later date. Your assigned high school will contact you on how and when you can bring them to the school site for verification.
