In response to California Assembly Bill 1584 and California Education Code 49073.1 (b), which outlines requirements for contracts between schools and third-party vendors handling student data in California GUHSD has formed the Software Review Committee and Review process to address:
assurance that schools retain control of student records while outlining how students can manage their own content.
prohibiting vendors from using data for unauthorized purposes or targeted advertising and detailing procedures for accessing, correcting, and securing student information.
data deletion after contract termination, with an exception for student-controlled content
emphasizing joint efforts to comply with federal privacy laws like FERPA.
requiring procedures for notifying affected parties in case of data breaches.
All software purchases, renewals, contracts and Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) must be reviewed and approved by the SRC.

Option 1:
If your software is listed on the Approved Vendor Contacts document and your contract expiration date is prior to the listed approved date, please submit a requisition and a quote to Purchasing. You do not need Software Review Committee approval to proceed. If approved to pay via P-Card, submit the proper paperwork.
Option 2:
If your software is listed on the Approved Vendor Contacts document but the contract expiration date is after the listed approved date, select a choice below.
If your software is not listed on the Approved Vendor Contacts document, please follow the instructions below to submit a new request or renewal.

Once you have completed the Google document, please grant help@guhsd.netediting permissions, select the notify checkbox, and share. A help ticket will be created. The Software Review Committee (SRC) will evaluate the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy before providing feedback or approval.
