Processing of your student's Online Registration application can take a few days, especially during high volume times.  However, if you haven't received confirmation of registration after ten business days, please contact us at 619-956-4357 so we can check to make sure there were no problems with your application.

Online Registration (OLR) Tips

Use the following tips to make the online registration easier to complete:
  • Use one of the recommended browsers:
    • Google Chrome is the preferred browser.
    • Firefox, Microsoft Edge, and Safari also work.
  • Online Registration (OLR) is a web form; it will time out. Do not leave unsaved sections for long periods of time.
  • This field is requiredData field entry error messages (red thought bubbles) can be removed by clicking on them.
  • Gather all required information before beginning the Online Registration:
    • Read through each of the tabbed sections below to see what kinds of residence, parent, emergency contact, and student information you will need.
    • If possible, obtain scanned files of your student's birth certificate, student's immunization records, and family proof of residency.
  • Allow at least 3 - 5 business days for a new student's application to be processed.
    • During high volume submission times such as School Choice, processing may take up to 10 business days.
    • Please contact us at applicationsupport@guhsd.net or 619-956-4357 if you have not received a registration approval email after ten business days. 
    • Please keep these timelines in mind if you plan to participate in School Choice. We recommend submitting your registration at least three weeks before the School Choice Window closes.
 
Click each tab below for instructions on how to fill out each section of the Online Registration.  
 

Student(s) Primary Residence

Enter your family's main phone number and address information in this section. 
This section has 5 steps to complete. 
 
1. Enter your family's Home Phone Number and check the Contact Preferences boxes.

2. Click the gray Next button to go to the Home Address section.
  • Enter your student's primary address - As you type in your address, look for the address to appear in the green auto fill. Select the correct address when you see it. This will ensure that the correct school is selected.

3. Note the documents required for proof of residency. If you have pdf files or images of a utility bill, driver's license, etc. ready for upload as proof of residence, click the blue Upload buttons to upload each file. If you do not have the files, you can take the documents to your child's school at a later date.

4. Click Next to go to the Mailing Address section.
Check the box if the household has no separate mailing address or enter your mailing address.

5. Click Save/Continue to go to the Parent/Guardian tab.

This is the first tab of information that must be entered. Click on the Parent/Guardian tab above for help completing the next section of the registration.

Parent/Guardian

Add all Parent/Guardians including yourself in this area. This section has 14 steps to complete. 
 
1. Review the information that was pre-populated to make sure it is correct. 
 
2. Do not click the checkbox for "I am registering myself as an emancipated or unaccompanied minor" unless you are a student who has become legally recognized as an independent adult. 
 
3. Click the checkbox for "Please check this box if this person lives at the address listed below" if the address listed is the one where you live. If you do not live at the address listed, complete the remaining address information.

4. Click the Next button to continue on to the Contact Information section. 
 
5. Add cell phone number, email address and preferred language. Once you have entered the phone number and email, check contact preferences boxes.
  • You must check General in order to receive an invitation to create an Infinite Campus Parent Portal.

6. Click the Next button to continue on to the Migrant Worker section
 
7. Check Yes if you are a migrant worker. Otherwise, check No.

8. Click Next to go to the Military and/or Indian Reservation section.

 

9. Check Yes or No to answer the questions.

10. Click Next to go to the Education section.

 

11. Choose this parent's educational level from the drop-down list.

12. Click Save/Continue to go to the Parent/Guardian Review.

 
13. If your student has another parent or guardian, click Add New Parent/Guardian then follow steps 3 through 12 above to enter the second parent or guardian's information. 
 
14. Click Save/Continue to go to the Emergency Contact tab.

This is the second tab of information that must be entered. Click on the Emergency Contact tab above for help completing the next section of the registration. 
Students Primary Residence, parents or guardians, emergency contact, students

Emergency Contact

Add emergency contacts for your student in this area. These are people in addition to the parent(s) whom you would want contacted in an emergency if the parent(s) could not be reached. This section has 10 steps to complete. 
 
1. Click  Add New Emergency Contact.

2. Note the pop up message, then click OK:

Add Emergency Contact Name and gender.

4. Click Next to go to the Contact Information section.

 

5. Add Emergency contact information - you must enter at least one Phone Number in this section.

6. Click Next to go to the Verification section.
 

7. Check the box if this person lives at the address listed, or enter a new address.

8. Click Save/Continue to go to the Emergency Contact Review.

 
9. Click Add New Emergency Contact if you want to add a second emergency contact, then follow steps 2 through 8 above to enter the second emergency contact's information.
 

10. Click Save/Continue to go to the Student tab.

This is the third tab of information that must be entered. Click on the Student(s) tab above for help completing the next section of the registration.

Student(s)

Enter information for your student(s) in this section. This section has 42 steps to complete. 
 
Warning: The application is not complete until you have clicked the red Submit button and confirmed (Steps 41 and 42 of these instructions.)

2. Enter the Student’s required information. If possible, be prepared to upload a pdf or image of the student’s birth certificate. If this is not possible, you can take it to student’s school later.

3. Click Next to go to the Race Ethnicity section.

 

4. Complete the Race Ethnicity section.

5. Click Next to go to the Tribal Enrollment section.

 

6. Check yes and enter the Tribal Membership Number if your student has an active enrollment in a United States tribe. Otherwise, check No.

7. Click Next to go to the Language Information section.

 

8. Answer all questions in this section.

9. Click Next to go to the Housing Eligibility Acknowledgement.

 

10. This section pertains to rights that homeless children, youth, and their families may have. Read and check the checkbox to acknowledge.

12. Select the answer that best describes your student's housing situation, or select None of the Above.

13. Click Next to go to the Student Services section.
 
14. Answer yes or no for each question. If you answer yes and a text box appears, enter the requested information.

15. Click Next to go to the Family Survey section (July through November, only).

17. Click Next to go to the Relationships - Parent/Guardians section

 

18. Please select relationships and contact sequence for each parent or guardian listed.

19. Click Next to go to the Relationships - Emergency Contacts section.

21. Click Next to go to the Health Services section.

 
22. Read the statements and check the boxes. Optional: Enter a preferred hospital and/or your student's physician’s contact information.

24. Check either No or Add Condition. If you click Add Condition, you must select a condition from the drop-down list.  You can add more conditions if needed.

25. Click Next to go to the Health Services - Medications section.

 

26. Check either No or Add Medication. If you click Add Medication, enter name of medication, where taken and medication type. You can add more medications if needed.

27. Click Next to go to the Previous Schools section.

 

28. Enter previous schools for the student.

29. Click Next to go to the Release Agreement - Media section.

 
30. Read then check either Yes or No to each question in this section.

31. Click Next to go to the Release Agreement - Military section.

 

32. Read then select Yes if you do not want your student’s information given to the military recruiters.

33. Click Next to go to the Technology - Acceptable Use Policy section.

 

34. Read then click the checkbox to agree to the Technology Acceptable Use Policy.

35. Click Next to go to the Parent Handbook Acknowledgement section.

 

36. Read then check the boxes for the Parent Handbook and School Handbook acknowledgements. Enter today's date using the date selector.

37. Click Save/Continue to go to the Student(s) Review page.
 
38. If you have another student to register, click Add New Student, then repeat steps 2 through 37 above for the new student.

39. Click Save/Continue.

 

40. Click the red Submit button to submit the application.

41. After you click Submit, you will see a pop-up box.  If you need to go back into the application and make additions, click Cancel. If your application is complete, click OK.

42. Click Application Summary PDF if you would like to save or print a copy of the application you submitted.

When you see the link to the application summary file, you will have completed the registration. Please contact applicationsupport@guhsd.net if you have not received an invitation to create an Infinite Campus portal within ten business days of completing the registration. 
 
ETS Help Desk Phone and Hours
 
If you need assistance with the online registration,
you can complete it at your student's home school or ETS.
