Maintenance
In addition to maintaining the school bus fleet, the Transportation
Department’s maintenance garage is also responsible for maintaining all
other District vehicles such as heavy duty dump trucks, back hoes, fork
lifts, agriculture equipment, as well as vehicles for other school
districts, fire engines for surrounding municipalities, and buses &
vans for several San Diego County YMCA programs
This
great diversity of vehicles and equipment requires the talents of
highly trained personnel. In the commercial world, most shop personnel
are familiar wirh only one or two models; however, our staff has a broad
equipment knowledge to service our customers' many varieties of
equipment.
Because of our highly trained
technicians and modern shop equipment, other government agencies and
school districts have found it advantageous to have Grossmont's shop
perform their maintenance and repair work. By cooperating and sharing
our resources with each other, all parties recognize significant budget
savings. Here are some of the services we offer:
