Grossmont Union High School District

The Governing Board is committed to maintaining a learning environment that is free of harassment and discrimination.  The Board prohibits, at school or school-sponsored or school-related activities, or acts which occur off campus or outside of school-related or school-sponsored activities but which may have an impact or create a hostile environment at school, sexual harassment targeted at any student, employee, interns, volunteers, contractors, job applicants, and other persons with an employment or learning relationship with the district. The Board also prohibits retaliatory behavior or action against any person who reports, files a complaint, testifies about, or otherwise supports a complainant in alleging sexual harassment.
 
Sexual harassment includes, but is not limited to, unwelcome sexual advances, unwanted requests for sexual favors, harassment that is based on the sex, gender, gender identity, gender expression, or sexual orientation of the victim and harassment based on pregnancy, childbirth, or related medical conditions, or other unwanted verbal, visual, or physical conduct of a sexual nature made against another person of the same or opposite sex.
 
Sexual harassment complaints allege that a district employee was subjected to one or more of the following forms of sexual harassment:
  1. A district employee conditioning the provision of a district aid, benefit, or service on a person's participation in unwelcome sexual conduct
  2. Unwelcome conduct determined by a reasonable person to be so severe, pervasive, and objectively offensive that it effectively denies a person equal access to the district's education program or activity
  3. Sexual assault, dating violence, domestic violence, or stalking as defined in 20 USC 1092 or 34 USC 12291
