Grossmont Union High School District

The Facilities Management Department manages the operation, maintenance and construction of District facilities in order to create excellent learning environments for district students. Utilizing State and local funds, the department has constructed science labs, rehabilitated aging classrooms and equipment and improved safety/energy-efficiency for buildings throughout the district.  Thanks to East County voters, in 2008 Proposition U was approved and will provide $417 million in local bond funding to improve 11 comprehensive high schools, five alternative school sites and construct a new high school.  The Facilities Management Department is also responsible for grounds maintenance, facility inspections, preventive maintenance, deferred maintenance, custodial services, energy conservation, compliance with Americans with Disabilities Act requirements, facilities safety, aquatics program, real estate management, facility leases, joint use agreements and the developer fee program.
