Grossmont Union High School District

Message to Families

Dear Students and Families:

We hope that you are keeping safe and are settling into your new routines. Your safety remains one of our top priorities. Please take care of yourself and your family. In the coming month, we will be evaluating how to proceed in these unprecedented times.

Grossmont Union High School District has paused normal classroom operations, and teachers will not give students any additional required work until our planned return to school on April 13. In the meantime, we challenge you to learn something new, dig deeper into a subject or idea that interests you, or apply your knowledge in a creation of some sort. Think big. This is NOT about a grade, it is about you getting a chance to claim ownership of your educational journey.

  • What do you love? What do you want to know more about?
  • What do you want to build or create? A work of art? A WeVideo? A birdhouse?
  • What books have you been wanting to read?
  • How can you make a difference in your community once this is over?

These questions are just beginning. If you need help getting started, we have built a collection of enrichment resources to help get you started. Your teachers might also share some options with you based upon what you have been learning in their classes. We also encourage you and your family to check out the education programing on KPBS television. If you do something cool and want to share it online, tag #GUHSDLearns and your school!
Additionally, if you need Internet service at home, Cox is offering free service during this time. Visit this link.
The Grossmont District encourages you to continue to follow the guidelines set by local officials and stay safe! Please stay tuned as we evaluate the mode of instruction on or after April 13.
