Finals Posted
Only a day late, but I have posted the grades for the final exam. A couple things to note:
This grade does not include the extra credit review guide and World War I assignment log - I will add those grades later
I have decided to give extra credit for all submitted review guides, even if you scored below a 65%

You Survived!
Congratulations you made it to winter break, took the final, and now can relax. Here are a couple things to help keep you busy in the next two weeks.
Extra Credit Watch up to two movies for upto 30 points of extra credit. Here are the directions to the assignment.
World War I Poems and Letters I have posted all of the poems and letters I received. Take some time to read through them - especially the ones from the other periods. Amazing work!

World History Update #3
I. Final Exam on Friday II. Winter Break Extra Credit III. WWI Poems IV. After Winter Break
I. Final Exam on Friday This Friday the students in Mr. McDowell's world history classes will be taking their final exam. Students were given a review sheet last week. This review is very important because it reflects the questions that are on the exam and any student who turns in a completed review will receive an extra 10% on his/her final exam.
The PowerPoint notes from throughout the semester and the review guide will be available on the web site later this evening.
II. Winter Break Extra Credit On Friday students will receive a handout (which will also be available on the web site on Friday) that outlines an opportunity for some extra credit. Students can watch up to two movies about topics studied in class in the last 18 weeks. After watching the movies, students must do a short assignment. All movie reviews will be due upon our return from break.
III. World War I Poems and Letters On Tuesday and Wednesday of this week, the students presented poems and letters about the soldiers who bravely fought in the First World War. A number of the students have opted to publish their poems on my World History Web Site. They will be linked from the main page by Friday. Please take some time to read what the students have written, they have proven to be incredibly insightful.
IV. After Winter Break By taking the final exam Friday, we will be able to dedicate the remaining two weeks of the semester to a project/simulation on World War I. This project will be done almost entirely in class, so students will have more time to focus on their other finals.
Thank you for your time and I hope you have a wonderful holiday season and a happy new year.
