Marc Barlow--Visions 2004

Project/on-going implementation:
To create a homepage/base that will connect student/teacher resources:eBackpack, Quia site, Powerpoints, helpful links and activities for specific classes.

Visions Project

I decided to create a WebQuest based on a project already used by the American Studies Department at Valhalla. The project is assigned at the end of the year and asks students to draw on history class studies of America at war and English class study of a YA novel by Walter Dean Myers called Fallen Angels. The WebQuest requires the students to make additional studies of primary source documents (especially letters and journals) from 3 wars in which the U.S. was involved. Students look at 3 different perspectives from each war (in a group) and collectively brainstorm how war has affected the individual over American history. Finally, students individually create an artwork that expresses that theme (how war affects the individual...) and present that artwork to the class. The artwork may be any medium as long as the student can address his/her theme and use specific details or symbols of details to support that theme in the work.

Project Progress

After talking to almost all of you, it appears that most have a good idea of what the project is going to look like. On Thursday or Friday, please post to the blog again. This time, I want you to expand on what you wrote earlier. Instead of saying you are going to make PowerPoints, tell us specifically what content you will cover, and if possible what sorts of things you will add (i.e. pictures from the Library of Congress). If you have come across any barriers, describe them.

Additionally, if you come across a good or cool resource, use this space to share it.

You are going to have a lot of time today and tomorrow - make the most of it! If you get stuck ask Jim or myself for help!

Junior Webquest

My students will be creating a webquest. However, in order to keep the net pollution free of bad webquests, my students will create very simple webquests called Junior webquests. These webquest will have the same form but be designed more as a tool for learning how to create a website and basic internet skills than a webquest.

U.S. History Review

I plan on creating a series of PowerPoint presentations for the first unit in U.S. History. This unit is particularly difficult because it spans a large period of time in history, but needs to be taught relatively quickly.

You have made it to the second afternoon, congratulations. Today we will be looking at Blogs and Wikis and then a little at web page design for non-web page designers.

Cookies & "opinionated women"

Enlightened gentlemen, like Vince & Chris, fortunately value women more for their intellectual qualities than their baking abilities.

Wild World o' Trusts!!

Multi-media presentation to cover the
CA state standard re. 'trusts.'
Powerpoint base with iMovie clips,
period pics, and puppetry.

A humbled Blog Master

My project will be to have students create thier own webquests from 20th century American history. After futher review my students will be creating Junior webquests. In order to keep the webquest environment free of more bad webquests.

1. Teacher will develop a series of Powerpoint presentations to inform and reenforce the Five themes of geography, geology, weather and climate. "Inch Allah!"

2. Something really great is pending...

Help Me Maughm

Create pictures that illuminate various settings from Somerset Maughm short stories. I want to use these pictures in a power point presentation either as an intro to a short story or an ongoing series of pictures coordinated with the reading. These pictures should include shots of colonial outposts in the South Pacific, images of late 19th early 20th century dinner parties, silverware, jewelry, fashions from the same time periods. I want to include shots of aristocrats as well as those of governesses and military officers. I want shots of clipper ships as well as steamships. All these shots will be used in a 3 week unit dealing with Somerset Maughm.

pp project

I will learn to use powerpoint and create a series of powerpoint lectures including photos and maybe video clips.

Project

I would like to develop a series of PowerPoint presentations that integrate video with my current curriculum. Additionally, I would like to develop a website that will allow for research and posting of research for my IB course.

VP

My project will be to create a website for my class. In addition I will work on a WebQuest on a TBA topic.
I would like to incorporate video clips into my powerpoint presentations for economics and governement classes. I would also like to create a class website along with a class calendar added to my pre-existing blog for class.

Visions Project Proposal

I would like to update my powerpoint slides to incorporate pictures, video, and weblinks for a more comprehensive multi-media presentation.

AP Gov/Econ Project

I plan on creating six Power Point lessons to introduce each unit in my AP Gov/Econ class.

Visions Project

I plan on creating a webquest that goes along with my virtual roadtrip assignment. Eventually I would like to add this webquest to a personalized webpage for my World Geography class. The problem is that I have no previous experience with Dreamweaver.

Project Idea

I would like to create a class web site. I want to make the site so absent students can see basic class information and assignments. Additionally, all students and reference to study or prepare for class. This resource would also be available for parents.

Visions Project Proposal

I want to incorporate short video clips in my existing power points for both US History and Life Management Skills.

Vision Project

John

Visions project

Create a series of PowerPoint presentations/lectures for the my first unit. This will include opening days activities and actual curriculum.

Visions Project Proposal

I would like to develop a class web site through Dreamweaver. I have developed a site in Front Page, and would like to migrate that information to Dreamweaver. I do have some limited knowledge of dreamweaver, so this will be a great weeklong project!
