The Internet has made countless resources available to classroom teachers. We now have access to millions of documents, photos, videos, etc. Now how do find this information?

Primary Resources

  • American Memory from the Library of Congress
  • Internet History Sourcebooks - While not being updated any longer, it contains a wealth of information clearly organized and searchable.
  • The Avalon Project - Documents in law, history, and diplomacy
  • EuroDocs - Resources with a western civilization edge
  • Primary Resources on the Web - A website from University of Washington that outlines some primary source sites and how to validate websites.
  • Repositories of Primary Sources - A listing by category and region of primary source documents from around the world.

Secondary Resources (College notes, textbook resources)

Primary sources are only the tip of iceberg. In addition there are great resources created by people just like you! Teachers, college professors, and self-proclaimed experts have published their essays, notes, and links online.
