Uniform
Inspection/ Awards
Cadets in the JROTC program are
required to wear their issued uniform whenever it is requested by the
instructors. Once every month the cadet is required to wear their uniform for a
monthly inspection. This part of the program effects 20% of the cadet's grade.
The cadet's are graded through a 30 point system. If the cadet receives a 30 or
an, "A" they are eligible for Cadet of the Month. Cadet of the Month
is recognition of an individual who stands out from the rest of the Battalion.
Once the cadet has become Cadet of the Month, they are now able to compete for
the Cadet of the Year competition. Cadet of the Year is just like the Cadet of
the Month except that it is for the cadet that stands out the most for the
year. Besides inspection, the cadets also receive awards that they are able to
present during a Uniform Day. Award days are held once a month. The cadets are
required to wear the uniforms and go through a formal procedure. At the end of
the year, JROTC holds an end of the year Award Ceremony. This is where the
cadets are rewarded their medals, ribbons, badges, and etc. in front of a group
of spectators. Also during this ceremony the winning company is awarded the
Honor Company. JROTC also hold special ceremonies at the school. For example,
on Memorial Day the Battalion gathers in front of the ROTC classroom before
school starts. The Battalion will then move in front of the school flag and
present arms while the school's band will play the National Anthem and Taps.
