Definition

Importance

Introduction

This section usually sets the stage, gives background information, or short overview.

While important, this section will not make or break a project.

Task

The end result of the WebQuest will be described here. A taskonomy has been developed to outline the different task types.

One of the most important components. It defines what students will be doing. Pay close attention to the task.

Process/
Resources

The steps that students must go through to accomplish the task. Resources can be incorporated into the process or found in a separate section.

This section should clearly walk your students through the WebQuest. Look for specific steps. Resources will either be included in this section or in a separate section. Check for dead links. If all the links for a WebQuest are dead, it cannot be used without modification.

Evaluation

A completed project will include a rubric or other evaluation criteria. However,

Many WebQuests are missing this element and it is up to the individual teacher to determine how to grade students participating. It up to the teacher to determine the importance of this component

Conclusion

A short summary of what should be accomplished and its implications.

While important, this section will not make or break a project.

Teacher Page

Specific instructions for implement, indication of standards met, and a detailed process for the teacher can be included. It is usually linked to the student page near the top or bottom of page.

It is a safe bet that most WebQuests do not have this section. If the one you select does, it will make your life easier.
