Bernie Dodge and Tom March coined the term WebQuest developed the first model in early 1995 by and since that time, WebQuests has been developed and used by teachers all over the world. The distinction between WebQuest and many other online activities, lies in the task. WebQuests generally go beyond simple retrival of information, instead students are engaged in the processing of Internet-based information. Students are actively involved in the learning process by taking on roles, working in groups, participating in simulations, and creating artist and scientific products.
