The Process

Phase 1: Research

1. Once you have been divided into groups, assign each member one of the following roles:
   
   

   Noble/Lord The Lord has controls a large track of grant that was granted to him by the king. He provides protection to the inhabitants of his land, organize the economic needs of his manor, and serve the king.	Knight While Knights are part of the nobility, they had less power and were professional fighters. Many times they were the son's of the nobles. The knight's duty involves protecting the serfs and attending the Lord's court.	Priest You played an important role in village life. Most of the activities within the village center around the church. The Priest acts the spiritual leader within the community and also has a significant amount of political sway
   Doctor Medieval life was tough. Healthcare was no near modern standards. The doctors of the time had a difficult time diagnosis and treating patients.	Serf Peasants are the backbone of Medieval society. They are the work force that provides the community with food. Life was hard and short for the serf.	Women As seen throughout history, women often took the backseat to their male counterparts in the Middle Ages. Family and religious roles dominated women's lives.

   
   
   
2. During the research phase, each individual will click on the role pages and use the provided links to research the listed topics.
   
   
3. Once you have finished researching your role, start going through the links and topics of the other roles. During the competition, you will have to quickly and accurately respond to a series of scenarios and to have an understanding of the other topics will assist you.
