1. Students will be assigned to groups of 3-4 and given a specific topic.

  2. Students need to examine all of the provided resources found on their topic web page. All students will take notes on the historical setting (geographic area, time period of the war, who was involved, what makes this topic important, and the questions provided on the topic pages) and will be thinking about the possible directions that a video on this topic should take.

  3. Now that the students have an understanding of the topic, develop and explain three possible scenarios outlines that you may use for your video. This should include
    • character roles,
    • setting,
    • issues to be discussed by the actors, and
    • an outline of possible information found in Step 2.

This step should be done away from the computer.

  4. Select the best scenario from the three that you developed in Step 3. Have your instructor approve this decision.

  5. Begin writing the script. Use the provided script writing guide.

  6. Once the script is complete, students should rehearse multiple times. Groups should change their script if there are any problems with flow or historical accuracy. Corrections can be made on the typed versions of the script.

  7. Record video.

  8. Present video on designated day. Submit notes, outlines, rough drafts of script, and final typed script to instructor.
