Communicating with Parents, Students, and Colleagues

The Internet is changing the way we communicate. Now is time to start harnessing this powerful tool to bring students, parents, and colleagues into your classroom. As time progresses, teachers will be expected to have web pages and communicate with e-mail.

This presentation has been divided into three sections.

  1. E-mail - Using e-mail to keep students and parents aware of important dates and grades, will save you time in the long run.
  2. ListServs - Have questions about teaching social studies? Or maybe about a specific topic in history? ListServs are e-mail lists that bring the expertise of hundreds of social science teachers around the world.
  3. Web Pages - A teacher can provide a lot of important information for students and parents via a web page.
