1. Shield Project - Students created an original coat of arms that reflected either themselves or their family. A short write-up describing the characteristics and symbolism of the shield accompanies the image of the shield

2. Castle Story - This assignment had students consider life in a castle. After discussing daily life and purposes of castles and a video depicting the planning, building, and defending of a castle, students took on the different roles within the castle and told their story.
