Shield Project
by T. Cepeda

I came up with a lot of ideas for my shield project. The designs I drew up were too difficult. I chose to go with a snake wrapped around a sword, classic look. Instead of using a sword, I used a baseball bat because it represents what I do and my love for the game.

The sword means justice and honor. I feel that the bat gives the sense of the same thing. The snake that is wrapped around the bat is engulfed in flames. The serpent represents wisdom. My family has strongly emphasized the acceptance of other beliefs. I feel that the snake represents my families values and knowledge. The flames around the snake just say that our beliefs are strong.

The colors that fill in my shield also tell about me and things that relate to me. The blue stripe represents truth and loyalty. I feel that at this time in my life, friendships are important to have. To keep these relationships, truthfulness and being loyal to people are
needed to keep your friendships in tact. The red strip represents bravery and strength. It is also generosity and so this shows how I have grown into becoming a more open person.

I can now stand up for myself and defend others with bravery. The black fills in the rest. The paper say that it represents grief. This doesn’t apply to me because I have changed a
lot and I am more of a red or blue stripe.
