History Through Art WebQuest
|
For the History Through Art WebQuest, students are asked to select one of nine artistic movements that span the last four hundred years and investigate the art movement, an artist of that period, and the historic influences on both. Finally, students create an original or copy an exhisting work of art typical of the movement studied. On the day of the final (a two hour block), the class is transformed into an art gallery. Students complete a write-up on five works posted around the room and pick a work that (1) exhibits the best use of color, (2) the piece with the best theme, and finally (3) the work that is in their estimation the "Best of Show". Here are nine examples of student work produced over the past two years.
