One of the many ways that the Grossmont Union High School District ensures campus safety is to encourage students to anonymously report crime on their school campuses. Both the Students Speaking Out and the WeTip programs have hotlines which provide students an avenue to report crimes. Tips to these programs are directly reported to schools so that action can be taken.
How the program works: Once anonymity of the caller has been established, the operator takes the caller through a series of questions that have been developed through the aid of law enforcement. These questions are designed to elicit as much information as possible. The information obtained is then screened and assessed, and passed on to the School Resource Officer and school administrators by encrypted email in order for them to further investigate.
