The BTSA/Induction Program
The vision of the Grossmont District BTSA / Induction program is to build upon the teacher preparation program of participating teachers through enhanced professional growth and support in a rich and thoughtful induction process. To be useful, this support must be provided at a sufficient level of intensity to make a difference in the performance, retention, and satisfaction of beginning teachers. The Grossmont BTSA / Induction program is currently approved by the Commission on Teacher Credentialing to recommend candidates for a clear general ed credential when all program requirements have been met. Participants may also opt to receive a MA Degree in Instruction & Learning simultaneously with their clear credential through Point Loma University. Special Ed teachers may also use the induction coursework to clear their Level I Special Ed credential through Point Loma University, as well. This 2-year induction program is available to all teachers in their first and second years of teaching on a preliminary credential, or a teacher from out of state with less than 5 years experience. Please contact the office of Ed Services and Professional Development for more information.
