Paraprofessional Proficiency Examination

REQUIREMENTS: As required by the “No Child Left Behind” legislation, para-professionals must meet “Highly Qualified” criteria by having either: completed 2 years of study at an institution of Higher Learning (48 units), or obtained an Associate’s Degree or higher, or demonstrated knowledge of and the ability to assist in instructing in the classroom in reading, writing, and math by passing the state or local assessment exam.

LOCATION: Tests will be held at East County Career Center - 924 East Main Street - El Cajon, CA 92021 - (619) 590-3900

TIME: The test will be held from 3:00pm to 5:00pm You must arrive 5 to10 minutes early because the test will begin at 3:00 p.m. Nobody will be admitted after that time.

CLASS RESTRICTIONS: Classes with attendance less than 4 will be rescheduled or moved to Grossmont Union High School District Office located at 1100 Murray Dr. in El Cajon. You will be notified 24 hours in advance of any change.

RESERVATION: Reservations must be made with Sue Glover (644-8026) Human Resources, Grossmont Union High School District. You can also sign up by email by sending me your name, phone number, testing date requesting and with NCLB included on the Subject line.

PRACTICE TEST: A practice test is available to assist you. It will have examples of all of the questions on the test. This can be obtained by also calling Sue Glover at the District Office (644-8026).
