Community Interest Fee-Based Program

Fee-Based Program

Grossmont Adult School offers Interest Based classes to the community:

Western Swing Dance, Hot Latin Dancing, Watercolor Painting, Digital Boot Camp, Photography, Golf, Guitar, Jewelry Making, and many more fun classes exist throughout the year.

The fee-based program is self-supporting; and does not receive State funding. Student enrollment fees cover all direct costs associated with the program. Since its' inception in 1995, the classes have been well received by the community. In our inaugural year, fifty one classes served 1,070 students in the regular program. One year later, our Super Saturday program started. In 2007 3,678 students enjoyed classes in our regular and Super Saturday programs, an additional 258 students took a variety of classes online.

District employees may enroll in any fee-based class and receive a half-price discount (if there is a minimum enrollment of 15 students in the class).

Fee-Based classes are listed in the current class schedule

Teaching Others
Would You Like to Teach Others?

Home

Four times per year, once every session, a class is available at Santana Adult Center for anyone interested in teaching their special avocation:

"Would You Like To Teach Others"
- A seminar for individuals interested in sharing their avocational expertise with other adults. Do you have a special interest that would be appropriate for a Community Education Fee-Based class? This one time session will help you get started. Learn how to write a clever course description, develop course objectives and market your course. This seminar provides information necessary to begin a teaching career as an Adult School instructor and is not intended for individuals who want to be high school or elementary school teachers.

Look in the current class schedule to find the next "Would You Like To Teach Others" class.

If you have an innovative idea for a new course, you, too, may be teaching a class for us.
