Ms. Olijnyk is a full-time instructor in the Vocational Nursing program at HOC. In addition to being the lead instructor for first semester students, she teaches Anatomy and Physiology, Nursing Science, and Medical Surgical Nursing. She also teaches clinical rotations at Continental Rehabilitation Hospital.

Ms. Olijnyk has a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. She began her nursing career began in the early 1970s, working in Neurological Intensive Care, Intensive Care, and Telemetry. In 1980, she taught her first class at HOC and has taught here ever since!

She and her husband, George, enjoy their time together and with their family. They especially enjoy the time they spend with their grandchildren and their frequent, relaxing getaways.

Her career as a bedside nurse and a nursing instructor has been gratifying. She says, “If you are looking for the kind of satisfaction, where you know you make a difference, ask yourself questions such as, How do I want to spend my life? What do I enjoy doing the most? If trying to make things better for others is important to you, then nursing might be just the right place for your natural talents. Nursing needs people with good hearts, minds and souls and a passion for delivering the highest quality care to others.”
