Cynthia Marquette

Ms. Marquette has been a Licensed Vocational Nurse for 38 years. She grew up in Massachusetts, where she also received her training as a nurse. While in Massachusetts, Cynthia worked in a rehabilitation hospital. Upon moving to California in 1977, she continued her career, now in long-term care. She finds working with geriatric patients very rewarding. Cynthia also has experience with psychiatric nursing and is a Director of Staff Development. Since 1990, she has also run her own business, teaching continuing education for CNAs. From 1994 until 1998, Cynthia ran a home care agency dealing with Alzheimer’s and related dementias. Before coming to HOC to teach, in 2005, Cynthia taught Nurse Assistant courses at Maric College for several years.


She loves to read, work on crafts and collect lighthouses. As the secretary of her Homeowners’ Association, she organizes many social activities for her neighborhood. Cynthia also serves on the Advisory Board of the Association for Retarded Citizens, an organization which provides assistance and support to those with developmental disabilities and their families.
