Antonia (Tonie) Brown

Subjects Taught: Vocational Nursing theory and clinical

Ms. Brown started working part-time at HOC in 1986, teaching foreign trained nurses and has been a full-time instructor since 1996. She teaches Growth and Development, Maternal Child Nursing and Reproductive diseases. Because of her commitment to preparing foreign trained nurses to integrate into the American healthcare field, Ms. Brown continues to teach foreign trained nurses on her days off.

Ms. Brown was the founder of the San Diego and Imperial County Chapters of Hispanic Nurses and currently serves on the boards of several Hispanic organizations. She is the second vice-president of the California Vocational Nurse Educators Board.

A nurse for 37 years, Ms. Brown always strives to instill her passion for nursing in her students.
