Susan Schenk
Subjects taught: Nurse Assistant/Home Health Aide

Ms. Schenk is an instructor in the Nurse Assistant/Home Health Aide program. She has taught at HOC for 10 years, both in the Nurse Assistant and Vocational Nursing programs.

Ms. Schenk holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from Indiana University. She began her nursing career in the 1960s, working as a staff nurse and, later, as the Assistant Director of Nursing in an acute care hospital. Her nursing experience also includes working in an Orthopedics medical office. Upon moving to California, she served as the Nurse Manager of the Senior Behavioral Program at Scripps Hospital.

Ms. Schenk has extensive experience as a teacher. Before moving to California, she taught in Registered Nursing programs both at Indiana State University and the University of Delaware. Because of her contributions to the field of healthcare, Ms. Schenk was selected for membership in Who’s Who in America.

According to Ms. Schenk, “The field of nursing is immensely satisfying and offers endless opportunities to follow special interests.”
